A Hard-Fought Hostplus Cup Final: Devils vs Bears

We couldn’t be prouder to see one of our partner clubs, the Norths Devils, battle it out on the biggest stage of the Hostplus Cup for the second year in a row. The 2025 Grand Final was everything you’d expect from two powerhouse clubs: intensity, grit, and a passionate crowd that brought the atmosphere to life.
The showdown against the Burleigh Bears was a true test of resilience. From the first whistle, the Devils showed their trademark toughness, matching the Bears set-for-set in the opening exchanges. Defence was fierce, every metre gained was earned, and it was clear both sides were ready to leave nothing in the tank.
While Burleigh eventually took control and secured the 22–8 victory, the scoreline doesn’t fully reflect the heart and determination the Devils displayed. They fought until the very last siren, pushing through every challenge and showing the character that makes them one of the most respected clubs in the competition.
For us at EV2, it’s moments like these that remind us why we’re passionate about sport. Seeing the players and their supporters proudly wearing the Devils’ colours in a grand final is something we’ll always celebrate. Well done Devils, bring on 2026!
