Cougars Grand Final Results – Powered by EV2 Sportswear

Sunday afternoon delivered a massive day of netball for the Cougars, with both their Ruby and Sapphire sides battling it out in the semi-finals for a spot in the Grand Final. Dressed in their EV2 kits, the girls brought grit, determination, and plenty of Kedron-Wavell Cougar pride to the court.
Ruby Cougars vs Gold Coast Titans
The Ruby girls took the court at 4 pm against the Gold Coast Titans – a side they’ve had close encounters with all season. The Titans struck early, taking the lead in the first quarter, but the Cougars refused to back down. By halftime, they had fought their way back to a nail-biting 31–29.
The Titans leaned on their sharp super shot skills to stay in it, keeping the scores locked at the end of each quarter. With five minutes left, the Titans looked like they might sneak away with it, but the Cougars had other plans. Enter Ella Macartney. With clutch super shots and the support from a game-changing defensive turnover, Ella sparked the Cougars to leap ahead in the final minute. Backing that up, Simoné Botha was unstoppable under the post, sinking 50 of the team’s 60 goals – an incredible feat that sealed the Cougars’ 60–57 victory.
It was a tough, high-energy contest, with both teams showing heart and sportsmanship. Huge congratulations to the Cougars girls on an epic win!

Sapphire Cougars vs Bond University Bull Sharks
The Sapphire side faced off against Bond University in what turned out to be another thriller. Jessie and Tia dominated through the centre court, keeping the Cougars right in the hunt. But as the clock ticked down, Bond held possession and edged out the narrowest of victories – 61–60.
While the result didn’t fall the Cougars’ way, the fight, spirit, and skill on display were second to none. The Sapphires may have missed their chance this year, but they’ll be back stronger than ever.
