Legends Hit the Sand for the OSMAC Beach 5s Superstars of Origin

The legends of rugby league swapped boots for bare feet at this year's OSMAC Beach 5s Superstars of Origin, delivering a sun-soaked showdown at Pineapple Beach, Brisbane. With iconic players from both New South Wales and Queensland lacing up (figuratively) once again, fans were treated to a nostalgic yet action-packed version of the game they love, only this time, it was on sand.
The Format: Beach 5s
Beach 5s is a fast-paced, high-intensity version of rugby league played with five players per side on a shortened beach field. The rules are simplified, the pace is relentless, and the hits (while friendlier) still carry weight. It’s rugby league meets festival vibes, and it’s electric.
